Sensory Room & Ball Pool Policies

Sensory Room Made-Well: Hire Charges and Code of Conduct.


Charges:
• Private Use: £35 for a 50-minute session. Up to 14 users per session. For sessions including wheelchair users, the number of users may be reduced based on the number of wheelchairs. 
• Shared Session: £10 per person for a 50-minute session. This may involve sharing with individuals we support. No charge for carers. Up to 14 users per session. 


Code of Conduct:
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all users of the Sensory Room at Made-Well, please adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Booking and Payment:.
• Online Booking: Bookings can be made online by visiting www.madewellevents.
co.uk (Please call 01837 810584, if you have any problems booking the space).
2. Cancellations and Changes:
• To make a booking or to change/cancel a session, you can do this online 24 hours before your booking. If you need help with this or it's less than 24 hours please email: admin@madewellevents.co.uk. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to change or cancel a session and receive a refund.
3. Supervision:
• Users must be accompanied by at least one responsible adult.
4. Liability:
• Public liability insurance is in place for The Sensory Room Made-Well. Use of the facility is at the individual’s own risk.
5. Equipment Use:
• A Gantry Hoist is installed in the Sensory Room. Users of this hoist must be appropriately trained and use their own sling. Usage is at the individual’s own risk.
6. Accidents and Maintenance:
• Report any accidents, faulty equipment, or areas needing cleaning to Made-Well staff as soon as possible.
7. Food and Drink:
• No food, drink, or chewing gum is allowed in The Sensory Room. An on-site café is open from 9:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday and Weekends during Spring/ Summer.
8. Facilities:
• Toilets are available near the café. Additionally, a Changing Places toilet, equipped with a hoist and adult-sized changing bench, is located near the Sensory Room.
9. Respect and Conduct:
• Accompanying adults and users must treat The Sensory Room, its resources, and staff with respect and adhere to all rules and regulations. The premises and grounds are non-smoking.
10. Photography:
• Do not photograph or video other users and visitors without consent.
11. Right to Refuse Entry:
• The Sensory Room Made-Well reserves the right to refuse entry to any user or their accompanying adult.
12. Responsibility for Damage:
• The hirer is responsible for avoiding damage to the sensory room equipment and will be held accountable for any loss or damage.


Additional Amenities at Made-Well:
Visitors can also enjoy our wheelchair-accessible park, friendly animals, café, gardens, public
activities, and events. For more information, please speak to our staff.


By following this Code of Conduct and taking advantage of our additional amenities, we aim to
maintain a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all visitors to Made-Well.

Ball Pool Policy

1. Introduction
Made-Well CIC is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for all visitors using our ball pool, including children, adults, and individuals with sensory or mobility needs. By entering the ball pool area, all users and their responsible adults/caregivers agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone.
2. Age & Supervision Requirements
• Children under 5 years: Must be accompanied inside the ball pool by a responsible adult (18+) at all  times.
• Children aged 5-12 years: Must be closely supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
• Teenagers (13+) and adults: May use the pool independently but must adhere to all safety guidelines.
3. General Safety Rules
• No rough play, pushing, or forceful throwing of balls.
• No diving, jumping, or somersaulting into the ball pool.
• Shoes must be removed; socks must be worn at all times.
• No food, drinks, chewing gum, or glass containers allowed in the ball pool area.
• No sharp objects, jewellery, or personal belongings should be taken into the pool.
• Anyone feeling unwell (including recent diarrhoea, vomiting, or infections) should not enter.
• Balls must remain inside the pool area—do not remove or throw them outside.
• If assistance is required, users must notify a staff member before entry.
4. Hygiene & Cleanliness
• The ball pool is regularly cleaned and sanitised for health and safety.
• Handwashing is encouraged before and after use.
• If a user has an accident (e.g., sickness or incontinence), staff must be informed immediately so cleaning procedures can be followed.
5. Responsibility & Liability
• Parents, guardians, and caregivers are fully responsible for the safety and behaviour of the individuals they supervise.
• Made-Well CIC is not responsible for any injuries sustained due to failure to follow the safety rules.
• Made-Well CIC is not liable for lost or damaged personal belongings.
• Failure to comply with these terms and conditions may result in removal from the ball pool area.
6. Emergency Procedures
• In case of an emergency, visitors should alert a staff member immediately.
• If an evacuation is necessary, all users must follow staff instructions promptly.
• First aid assistance is available if required.
7. Agreement to Terms
By entering the Made-Well CIC ball pool, all visitors acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
These rules are in place to ensure a safe, accessible, and enjoyable experience for everyone.
